The
renovation of this 100 year-old performing arts
theater
returned the Theatre to its original, turn-of-the-century
luster while at the same time, providing a more
comfortable
venue for its guests. The Theatre's ornate plaster
and beaux arts finishes were restored to their former
grandeur
of 1903, and the previously closed second balcony was
re-opened to allow for substantially more seating
capacity.
Original seating was restored and improved accessible
seating and services were provided. Carpet was installed
throughout and the Theatre received a new elevator,
a new lounge serving the upper balconies and new
restrooms.
The scope also included upgrading the electrical and
mechanical systems, installing all new safety and
security
systems, enhancing the Theatre's rigging system for
easier control of the stage equipment, and improving
the sound, video, communications and theatrical dimming
systems. The work covered 26,000 s.f. and now houses
a 21st century theater in a 19th century landmark.
