Flagship Store
Boylston Street, Boston, MA

This retail fit up consisted of the complete gut of the existing Talbots location, as well as an additional neighboring retail space, and the renovation of both spaces to create one 15,000 s/f store. The Boylston street location is now Boston's flagship store and the largest single Talbots in the country. This project, located in Boston's fashionable Back Bay, included the covering of a structural steel staircase with hardwood to create a grand staircase more indigenous to the neighborhood's affluent residences.

Talbots remained fully occupied and open for business while Lee Kennedy Co. completed the $2 million, 13-week, fast-track project.

Downtown Crossing
School St., Boston, MA

The Holiday shopping season, in and of itself, can be stressful to retailers - and then add in the major renovation of a key outlet during the busiest retail period of the year. That's what took place at the Talbots clothing store in Boston's Downtown Crossing shopping district. The Lee Kennedy Co. team, as general contractor, ensured that the project went smoothly and the Owner was able to focus on their business rather than the ongoing construction. The project consisted of a complete interior retrofit while the store was fully operational and open to business. The Lee Kennedy Co. team completed this complex renovation of 6,000 s/f in seven weeks. The work included demolition, new partitions, millwork display areas, and new finishes on every surface - from floor to ceiling. The Lee Kennedy Co. team also executed the successful changeover of an essential cashwrap during a single night shift.

Subsequently, Lee Kennedy Co. negotiated a contract to renovate and update the façade of the School Street store. All work was completed after hours, the store remaining open throughout.
