This
high-end retail environment spans two floors and 5,400 s/f
of space. Build-out work for the project included gutting
and rebuilding the space, installing a handicap lift, adding
steel and concrete supports to extend an existing mezzanine
level, and adding a custom-made glass wall to enclose the
second floor. A circular cashwrap serves as the store's focal
point and a corresponding custom-made spiral staircase winds
its way around the cashwrap to the mezzanine. A patterned
wood floor and extensive millwork add to this distinct central
area.
Counterpoising the classic wood finishes in teak and mahogany are the high-tech labyrinth of theatrical audio, video, and lighting systems which project changing sounds and images along the walls and ceilings. Sources of sound, light, and image have been carefully concealed.
