Shaila Kennedy Named President
of Massachusetts Building Congress
Shaila Kennedy, vice president of Lee
Kennedy Co., Inc. in Boston was elected president of the Massachusetts
Building Congress (MBC). Founded in 1921, the MBC provides
a business and networking forum for companies and individuals
in the building industry. Kennedy serves a one-year term as
president. Her duties include presiding over all meetings
and events, developing policies for the organization and overseeing
all matters of administration and operation. She will direct
the MBC's numerous committees and foster innovations that
reflect the evolution of the building industry.
As vice president of Lee Kennedy Co., Kennedy
oversees the Company's marketing endeavors and is responsible
for management decisions and business development. Kennedy
is a distinguished leader in the real estate and construction
community. In addition to her position at the MBC, she is
currently vice-chair of the Board of the Associated General
Contractors of Massachusetts.
"I hope my involvement as president
of the MBC will inspire greater participation among both present
and prospective members," notes Kennedy. Many changes
are taking place in the Boston construction industry-the landscape
changes as quickly as the regulations. "Organizations
like the MBC provide an opportunity for colleagues to come
together in a relaxed atmosphere to discuss these changes
while learning from one another's experiences," adds
Kennedy.
