Spring 2003

Interior Expansion

Lee Kennedy Co. is pleased to announce the addition of Project Executive Craig Garland to its Corporate Interiors Department. Formerly a senior project manager at Payton Construction Corporation, Craig brings with him a long portfolio of previous tenant fit-out work. Together with Project Executive Eugene Kennedy and Chief Estimator Scott Robbins, the three will spearhead the Corporate Interiors Department in a manner that allows for an easy and efficient exchange between client development, estimating and project management of tenant work.

Going Green

Did you know that 30% of the nation’s greenhouse gas emissions come from buildings? Did you know that buildings account for 36% of America’s total energy use? Recognizing the importance of these statistics, Lee Kennedy Co. has become a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. The purpose of the Council is to support sustainable building design and construction.

“Green Building is a positive evolution for the industry,” notes Director of Preconstruction Services Blair Banker. A sustainable building uses less energy, therefore saving owners considerable money in operating costs. Green buildings are constructed with the end user in mind. Air quality, lighting and functionality is better, thus increasing employee productivity. “The benefits to the owners, occupants, community and future generations are considerable,” notes Blair.
