Spring 2006

Noteworthy

After a tight 15-month schedule that began in the height of a New England winter, Dorchester, MA can comfortably host visitors in the newly completed Courtyard by Marriott. Designed by PCI Architects, this six-story ground up construction features a state-of-the-art light gauge metal framing system. This framing innovation achieves both cost and schedule savings while still allowing for the design of a sophisticated porte-cochere entry, spacious lobby and luxury suites that
provide a tranquil setting for even the most discerning guest with a home away from home.

Radio One has joined the Big League with its brand new station located in Marina Bay, Quincy. The 10,000 s.f. space combines a modern urban setting with nautical influences through the use of corrugated metal siding, dropglass paneled chandeliers and crisp modern furniture lines. Undulating ceilings, hand blown jelly fish-like glass globes, and cobalt blue tiles accented with a pattern of white wave crests completes the fluid design. In turn, this culmination of elements creates an inviting and serene space accented with edgy urban sophistication that is sure to be a hit..

At 150 Federal Street, two dynamic yet operational office spaces were fashioned on the ninth and tenth floors. On the tenth floor Dyer| Brown & Associates Architects designed unique curved hallways that create a striking line that's a home run with the Northeast Investment Management Inc. team. The space houses offices, conference rooms, a reception area and a new elevator lobby. On the ninth floor designed by Visnick & Caulfield Associates, BDO Seidman llp relishes a winning performance in the construction of a contemporary reception area accented by a circular soffit overhead and a stunning patterned stone floor. The interior also uses diverse textures meticulously blended together that compounded with the reception area will cause any visitor to be a fan.
