Harvard University – Sanders Theatre, Memorial Hall
Cambridge, MA
Sanders Theatre, completed in 1875, is located in the apse of Memorial Hall and is Harvard’s largest lecture hall with 1,166 seats. This major renovation incorporated state-of-the-art HVAC, electrical, A/V and sprinkler upgrades hidden from the architectural details while major restoration to finishes, millwork, and wall coverings were completed throughout including on the 70’ high ceiling. Internationally known for its superior acoustics, the space now benefits from the technology of today without sacrificing the beauty of the original design. The team worked together under a tight schedule and budget to complete the project on time with the highest level of quality and craftsmanship and ultimately received the AGC’s Build Mass Award for excellence in construction and project team effectiveness.
