Lee Kennedy Co. completed two projects for NEHGS which consisted of renovations on multiple floors. The remodeling of the existing library space included selective demolition and reconstruction of all interior finishes. In addition, all existing MEP and emergency management systems were upgraded. This historically significant building now has increased useable space, updated offices and reception, improved security, new technology, a conference center, and servant pantry as well as additional storage for books and documents in a temperature and moisture controlled environment that ensures the preservation of antique books, genealogical records, and other historical artifacts stored at the library. The grand, two-story rotunda was restored using as much of the existing materials as possible.
