Bridgewater State College - Shea-Durgin Hall

Lee Kennedy Co. performed the renovation of this six-story, 156,000 sf residence hall. The goal of the project was to modernize the five residential floors including a complete redesign of bathroom facilities, new electrical switchgear, secondary power distribution and an addressable alarm system, incorporation of a new floor plan layout with limited renovations to areas on the ground floor. Common study and gathering areas were created on each residential wing, and exterior light was introduced at the floor lobbies. Overall the occupancy of the building was increased. The project was completed in multiple phases conducted primarily during summer break building shut-down periods. The renovations provide modern, safe accommodations and an enhanced first year residence life.
