Victory Programs, Inc.
Long Island Transitional House, Boston, MA
Victory Programs, Inc. is a Boston-based multi-service agency providing housing and treatment programs to individuals and families facing homelessness, addiction or other chronic illnesses. The program was donated space in the Old State Hospital on Long Island in the Boston Harbor which was earmarked for a shelter for battered women and their families. Renovations included a complete gut and construction of a full working kitchen, sixteen bedrooms, and a family and activity center as well as offices and living quarters for the on-site staff. The design of the new facility focuses on creating a homelike atmosphere using bright colors and millwork accents throughout. Additional work provided MEP systems upgrades, tel/data capabilities and accessibility upgrades to bring building into ADA compliance.
