Skywalk Observatory
Prudential Center, Boston, MA
The Skywalk Observatory on the 50th floor of the Prudential Tower offers spectacular views of the City. Lee Kennedy Co. acted as contractor for work that occurred over two phases. The first included the construction of a new theater with built-in bench seating where visitors can view a short video on Boston. Work incorporated selective demolition and complete build-out including automatic doors that open when the video ends. Sound and video elements required intense coordination with the Canadian-based audio/visual firm. The second phase addressed the need for smaller exhibit space and interactive displays. The team erected temporary walls for safety and to minimize disruption to visitors of the observatory, which remained open to the public during construction.
