When
it comes to safety, OSHA’s standards are simply the bare minimum
at Lee Kennedy Co. All Levels of management are accountable for
safe and efficient work practices and policies. Planning for safety
starts in the design phase and continues through purchasing, fabrication,
and all stages of construction. Safety considerations, for example,
comprise a major portion of Lee Kennedy Co.’s preconstruction
services.
Our commitment to safety has not gone unrecognized
in the industry. Lee Kennedy Co. achieved the Blue (Highest) Level of the
Associated
General Contractors (AGC)/OSHA Construction Health and Safety Excellence
(CHASE)
program. The AGC of Massachusetts and OSHA partnered on
the creation of this program that was developed to recognize the
importance
of a safe and healthy construction site, and to increase the involvement
of labor, management and government in the never-ending quest to
improve safety. The program’s twofold objective is to reduce
the number of construction-related injuries, illnesses, and fatalities,
and to improve the quality of safety programs throughout the industry.
Representatives of Lee Kennedy Co., recently traveled to
the Associated General Contractors of America National Convention
in San Antonio, TX to accept the AGC of America
Construction Safety Excellence Award (CSEA) . This
award recognizes companies that have developed and implemented excellent
safety and loss prevention programs through management commitment
and employee involvement. This is a national award which recognized
only three contractors from the building division, in the country.
Lee Kennedy Co. was the only contractor from Massachusetts to be
named a finalist. Every level of management at Lee Kennedy
Co. is accountable for a safe and healthy work environment for all
employees. This award is a testament to the hard work we all
put forth in an effort to provide a safe work environment for all
on site. "Safe working conditions are
good for our industry, good for business and great for the workforce!
Safety affects the morale and the overall success of each project."
